COLCHESTER LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIPS

The Colchester Lions would like to invite all Colchester residents that are in their senior year of high school to apply for one of several scholarships we award. We consider applications from all graduating students planning to attend any accredited college, university, or trade school regardless of which public, private, charter or magnet high school they attend as well as home schooled students.

Colchester Lions Club Scholarships
One application form and essay will cover all of the Colchester Lions Club Scholarships.

Aram Damarjian - (Charter Member of Colchester Lions Club). This scholarship is given in memory of Aram Damarjian, Preceptor of Old Bacon Academy from 1947-1962. It will be presented to a graduate who will attend an institution of higher learning and is given based on scholarship and community service

Eric Jacobson Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is given in memory of Eric Jacobson, a life member of the Colchester Lions Club, who served as Club president as well as District Governor. Through his Lionism, Eric made tremendous contributions to our local community and beyond. It will be given to a graduate who will pursue a degree in accounting or mathematics at an institution of higher learning. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement and community service.

Irv Plotkin Memorial Scholarship - This scholarship is given in memory of Irving Plotkin, a longtime Colchester resident, businessman, and Lions Club Member. It will be given to a graduate who will pursue a degree in business at an institution of higher learning. The scholarship will be awarded based on academic achievement and community service.

Lions Club Appreciation Scholarship - These scholarships are given in appreciation of the Colchester dedicated Lions who give of their time, money and work to help support the many needs of the adults and children in our community. This scholarship is presented to a graduate who will attend an institution of higher learning and be based on service to the community and academic achievement.

Memorial Scholarship - These scholarship(s) will be given in memory of all departed Lions who have given 50 years or more service to Colchester. This scholarship is presented to a graduate who will attend an institution of higher learning and be based on service to the community.

Nursing Scholarship - This scholarship is given in the spirit of helping empower a future generation of healthcare heroes. This scholarship is given to a graduate who will pursue a degree in nursing at an institution of higher learning. The scholarship will be awarded based on scholarship and community service.
